It’s Time to Visit Times Square and Broadway
When Evening Falls on New York, it’s Time to Visit Times Square and Broadway
Although you can just as easily visit both Times Square and Broadway during the day, you won’t experience the magic of those world famous neon signs until darkness falls and they light up the night sky.
Times Square has been upgraded in recent years. The seedy reputation it had in the 1990s has gone, and new legislation has meant the adult industry has had to make way for more family familiar franchises. That doesn’t mean the adult industry has gone altogether, but it isn’t as prominent as it once was in this area. Today big name stores and restaurants vie for space beneath the giant billboards and tourists flock here to stand in the famous square and have their photos taken to show everyone back home that they’ve been to New York!
Broadway isn’t a place where you can take a photo of and have people instantly recognize where you are, but it’s an experience not to be missed nevertheless. Whether you’re a regular theater goer back home, or someone who’s never seen a live show, catching a show on Broadway is part of the New York experience. One of the main problems is getting tickets for the theaters. Tickets are often in short supply for popular shows, and none of the shows are cheap. However, if you aren’t too fussy about what you want to see, there are discount ticket booths in Time Square (your hotel should be able to help you locate one) where unsold tickets for that days’ performances are sold at discount prices. If you want to see a live taping of a television show, the best place to try and get tickets is usually through the show’s official website.
If this is your first visit to the “Big Apple”, Times Square and nearby Broadway are two parts of New York’s past and present that are definite “Must Sees” on your New York itinerary.
How To Plan A Trip To Tokyo
Tokyo, it is the largest city in Japan, and the world. The population is over twelve million people, and it has millions of visitors traveling there yearly as well. This can be a bit overwhelming to anyone wanting or needing to travel to Tokyo for any reason.
If traveling there for business, it is critical that the employee know exactly where he or she is supposed to be, how to get there and what facilities such as hotel, restaurants and transportation is available upon arrival. Most of these questions can be answered through the employer, but it is a very good idea to also study Tokyo independently and gain as much information as possible.
For people planning a leisure trip to Tokyo, it is even more critical to take the time to carefully plan out this trip. Knowing which sites to visit, where to stay, what transportation to use once there are all very important decisions, which should and need to be made before arriving in Tokyo Japan.
For most independent travelers, the services of a travel agent are usually needed. Going to someone who is familiar with Tokyo is the best first step in planning this type of vacation. Others will go online to study the city out on their own. To truly make the most of this trip, a combination of both is the best idea.
No matter the reason for traveling, and the information given, either by employer, travel agent, internet or other source, the best information will come from the use of maps. Maps of Tokyo can be obtained by contacted the visitor information center, or by talking to others that have been there. Maps are important as a person tries to navigate this large and densely populated city, especially for those that do not know the language, it would be very hard to ask for directions in a language you are unfamiliar with, much less understand the answer from someone that does not understand English.
After obtaining the necessary maps needed for your trip to Tokyo, making sure you have a wide variety of maps, it is also important to study out these maps, before you find yourself standing in the middle of Tokyo not knowing where you are and where you want to go. Pinpoint the areas you are interested in visiting. Find out how far these locations are from your hotel and know how you are going to get there.
Once you have arrived at Tokyo, do not rely on memory, keep your maps handy and in the event that you do get lost, even if you have no idea which way to go, at the very least you can solicit help from a local by pointing to the place you want to go. Japanese people, for the most part understand English, even if it is just a little, but having a map showing them where you want to go will make the conversation easier and less time consuming on both of you.
Traveling to a foreign country is exciting and adventurous, as long as you are properly prepared. No one wants to find himself or herself lost in the middle of any unfamiliar city, let alone one of the largest cities in the world!
Hotel Crib Safety
Hotel cribs can be a real time and space saver. With limited room in the vehicle and long hours driving, it’s always nice to arrive at your hotel and find baby’s crib set up and waiting. But, to ensure baby’s safety through the night, take a few minutes to make sure the crib meets safety standards before bedding your little one down for the night.
The crib should be assembled and set up correctly.
The hotel crib should be sturdy and not sway or rock when you shake it.
If the crib has wheels, make sure they are locked.
Crib mattress should be well supported and fit in the crib snugly. There should be no space between the mattress and the crib walls.
The mattress should be firm.
If possible, check the date of manufacture. Very old cribs do not meet today’s safety standards. Older cribs are less stable, as well.
Make sure baby can not get her head caught in the slats and that the sides of the crib operate correctly.
Check weight limitations. Be sure your child is not too large for the crib provided. If the child is too heavy, it could cause the crib to collapse.
Do not put soft or fluffy items in the crib with your child. This includes crib bumpers.
Place the crib away from windows, where your child can not reach window blinds, cords, lamp or lamp cords, or any wall plugs.
For mesh or travel cribs, double check that the sides are in the correct position and locked. Your baby could get tangled in the mesh and suffocate.
Consider bringing your own sheets for a hotel crib. Your child will feel more secure with familiar sheets, and you will know they are clean.
Take the extra time to double check safety and you and your child will sleep better.
Your Overnight Accommodation Options
Are you in the process of planning an extended RV trip? If you are, is this your first time looking to do so? If it is, you may have a number of questions. One question commonly asked by first time RV travelers is that of where to stay. When planning an extended RV trip, you may take comfort in knowing that you have a number of different overnight accommodation options.
One of the most common places for RV travelers to stay overnight is that of an RV park. RV parks are similar to standard campgrounds; however, they are designed with motor homes in mind. One of the biggest differences between traditional campgrounds and RV parks is the number of camping spaces available, as well as the size of those spaces, which is often much larger.
Should you decide to stay overnight at an RV park, you may want to plan doing so in advance. This is particularly important in late spring, summer, and early fall. These times are known as being popular RV travel dates. Although RV parks are increasing in popularity, many still quickly fill up with reservations. To help ensure that you have a place to stay each night of your trip, reservations are advised.
As previously stated, traditional campgrounds, also commonly referred to as public campgrounds, are similar to RV parks. For that reason, you will want to give them a close look. Many public campgrounds accommodate to RV owners. When doing so, they have larger spaces set aside that are able to fit most standard motor homes.
As with staying at an RV park, it is important to plan ahead, when looking to stay at a public campground. This is particularly important, as many public campgrounds are limited on the number of motor home accommodations they have. To help ensure that you have a spot you will want to make reservations, even if they are not technically required.
Another option that you have, when looking to stay in your RV overnight, is by speaking to those that you know. Is the purpose of your RV trip to visit long distance friends and relatives? If it is, ask if you can park your RV and stay on their property. Many will not have a problem allowing you to do so if they have a large yard or driveway. Although you may not want to ask, you should take money into consideration. You may be able to save yourself a considerable amount of money, especially on extend trips, when staying somewhere for free.
As previously stated, RV parks and public campgrounds with motor home accommodations are popular ways for RV owners and renters to spend their nights on extended trips. The best way to go about researching all of your options is by using the internet. A standard internet search, with your intended destination is advised. For example, if you will be traveling to Idaho, search with a phrase, such as “Boise Idaho RV parks,” or “Boise Idaho RV campgrounds.”
If you do choose to stay at a public campground with RV accommodations or an RV park, don’t pick the first one that you come cross. This is a great way to make sure that you find the overnight accommodation that is best for you and your needs. Many areas have multiple RV parks and campgrounds to choose from. If you start your planning early enough, you should be able to thoroughly examine the cost of each of your options, as well as park or campground features, like swimming pools, hiking trails, and so forth.
